A few books from my absence…

I am not going to do reviews for these books, but I do want to recommend them to you all.  These are a few books that I read while I was absent from the blog a while ago.

Dear Fang, With Love by Rufi Thorpe was a book about a young girl with bipolar disorder.  She takes a trip to Lithuania with her absentee father.  The story is told from the perspective of her father, with letters to her boyfriend back home at the beginning of each chapter.  This book will stay with me for a while.  I really, really enjoyed the story and the ups and downs of this father-daughter relationship.  You end only hoping for the best for the daughter.

Widow of the South by Robert Hicks is a Civil war historical fiction.  I read this because I found it on the shelf at work and thought I would try it.  It was very intriguing and left me wanting to learn more about the real woman behind the story, Carrie McGavock.

We Were Liars by E. Lockhart is a young adult suspense novel.  Although at first it does not read like a suspense novel, it reads like a normal contemporary fiction, you begin wondering in the world is really going on around the half way point.  It was a great book.  I enjoyed it immensely and cannot wait to hear more from E. Lockhart.
