The first book that I am currently reading is Last Child in the Woods: Saving Our Children From Nature-Deficit Disorder by Richard Louv.  This is a fascinating book so far even though I am only three chapters in.  Having two children of my own that I find would rather be inside on their Kindles or watching television rather than playing outdoors like I did as a child, I am hoping to find some answers.  What more can I do to get my kids outside, enjoying sunshine, snow, even rain?  This book can be found on Amazon.com and possibly larger bookstores.

The second book that I am reading right now is an intriguing LGBT young adult book, If You Could Be Mine by Sara Farizan.  Farizan tells us the story of Sahar and Nasrin, two teen girls from Iran who find themselves falling in love with each other.  This is a dangerous thing because homosexuality is a sin in the eyes of the law in Iran.  Sahar begins to think about getting surgery to make herself into a man so that she can be with Nasrin.  Sex reassignment surgery is, oddly enough, not against the law.  I can’t wait to find out what happens along the way with Sahar and Nasrin.  I have a feeling an HEA is not plausible though.  We shall see.  This book widely available at Amazon.com and other large bookstores.
